Radiology & Ultrasound Insourcing Solutions
Watch your department’s productivity and efficiency skyrocket with our bespoke insourcing solutions.
Radiology & Ultrasound
Long wait times in radiology and ultrasound departments can significantly impact patients. Demand, resource limitations, and a national shortage contribute to these delays, further complicated by pandemic backlogs.
Health Now steps in to bridge this gap.

We collaborate closely with partners to understand local requirements and SOPs. As part of this, we arrange a clinical meeting between our team (including our Clinical Director) and your service lead, to ensure we provide clinicians who are familiar with local pathways and practices.

“All the sonographers we have got from health now have all been reliable and scanning to a high level. The company has provided CV’s straight away and organised for the sonographers to come to our hospital as soon as possible which has helped alleviate our staffing issues. Thank you very much for this service.”

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde – Ultrasound – General Gynae Service
When we began working with Glasgow’s imaging service, over 9,000 patients were waiting more than 6 weeks for a scan and the projected trajectory (green line) showed the backlog continuing to rise toward 12,000. Even under expected recovery plans (orange line), thousands of patients would still have been waiting well into 2026. What actually happened is shown in blue. By deploying additional capacity, optimising pathways, and working in close partnership with local teams, we scanned 8,000 patients and fundamentally changed the direction of travel.

The 6+ week backlog fell dramatically (from over 9,000 to close to 1,000) in a matter of months meaning 8,000 people receiving earlier diagnosis, treatment decisions, and peace of mind.

Health Now scanned approx 8,000 patients from commencement in October 25 through to January 26. We finished two
months ahead of schedule.

Jamie Wild – Our Clinical Lead
Jamie achieved an MSc in medical ultrasound in 2017. Since then, he has gone on to develop a specialist role, helping to introduce new services at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals relating to elastography in the assessment of liver disease and the use of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the characterisation of indeterminate renal lesions. His specialist areas of interest relate to urological and hepatobiliary ultrasound, but he is able to perform a wide range of subspecialty diagnostic scans. He routinely performs various ultrasound-guided interventional procedures and provides input at multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical education meetings.
Jamie achieved Consultant Accreditation with the College of Radiographers (CoR) in 2021 and continues to work across the four pillars of consultant practice. Jamie sits on the ultrasound advisory group for the CoR, helping to shape ultrasound practice nationally and carrying out expert witness reports for the courts.
Jamie has performed specialist guest lecturing at higher education institutions nationally, as well as performing peer reviews of journals and providing input for educational ultrasound texts. Jamie hopes to expand his role further to have a strong research component, with the view of commencing a PhD in the near future
